Maytag Neptune Dryer--Drying Problems

Hi, I have a 4 year old Maytag Neptune Dryer that has been working great until about a week ago. Now, when I dry towels, it stops operating. I use Sensor Dry and the dryer defaults to 99 minutes. However, it runs for about 3 hours and then it turns off without sounding the finished alarm...that's because the towels are still all wet. I end up having to run it again, and it ends up taking 6 ours to dry one load of towels. I have read about possible solutions to this, but no one has made mention of the turning off issue that I am having. For now, this problem is only related to towels...not sure the significance of that just yet. I'd love to hear any suggestions.

My dryer takes too long to dry clothes. It could take up to 4 hours to dry a load of towels on high setting. What could be the problem?

Hi,

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have not taken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then you need to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should take place. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causes for your dryer to fail.

2 year old maytag gas dryer blowing warm air

Hi, Is there ant heat at all? Is it possible the dryer heats at first and stops later in the cycle? The first thing to check is the 4" vent going to the outside. Make sure it is cleared of lint and that it is not pinched off at all.
If the vent is ok, you might need to replace the coils on top the gas valve.
I can help you with this. I just want to narrow it down.

Hello: I have a Maytag, do not know model # as I inherited the 5 year old model when I purchased a condo and it is now 7 years old. The front of it states Maytag - Dependable Use, Heavy Dtuty - Large...

I ALWAYS START WITH VENTING WHEN CALLED WITH LONG DRYING TIMES BUT I HAVE SEEN WHERE ONLY HALF OF THE HEATING ELEMENT IS WORKING, WHICH IS PRETTY RARE. A NORMAL LOAD WOULD BE WHATEVER THE WASHER HAD IN IT WHICH WOULD BE LOOSLY FILLED TO THE TOP ROW OF HOLES IN THE WASHER TUB. THE ONLY OTHER QUESTION I WOULD ASK IS IF THE WASHER SEEMS TO BE SPINNING OUT PROPERLY AND IF THE CLOTHES ARE GOING INTO THE DRYER TOO WET.

Maytag Neptune gas dryer beeps.

NO RESETS OTHER THAN TO UNPLUG THE DRYER FOR 5 MINUTES, THEN RECONNECT POWER. ON ANY ELECTRONIC CONTROL, THIS WILL RESET THE CONTROL'S MICROCOMPUTER. IF THAT DOESN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM, THE TOUCH SWITCH MAY BE FAULTY.
