get error code 5200. it says print head is over heating. No matter what i do it will not print.
if there is no easy fix I will also toss the printer. I love it but if i have to go to a repair center it will cost me more than i can want to pay. Better to buy a new one. any one want to buy some ink cartridges.

The yellow and green light flashes and printer error 5200 message displays

Error NO. 5200 is caused by ink absorber almost full so you need to reset your printer.. To solve the problem follow the instruction step by step ;
1. Turn off the printer without pulling the power cords.
2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.
3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.
4. Then Press Resume button 5 times then let BOTH buttons go.
5. You will notice that the Alternate Blinking error is gone, this means that the printer is in Service Mode state. thanks

My colour cartridge is finished so i changed the setting to print in black only but my printer still wont print and has a code error e 5

In most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the black ink levels and adjust once again the settings for B/W printing.

Hi, i want to know when it gives a error code 5200 what's wrong with it?please help

What brand of printer?
The general reasons are:
Cartridge OverHeat 7 x Orange 10 5200 Replace the BJ Cartridge(Printhead)
Cartridge OverHeat 8 x Orange 10 5200 Replace the BJ Cartridge(Printhead)
Cartridge Displaced 9 x Orange 10 5200 Replace the BJ Cartridge(Printhead) or reinstall
Cartridge Displaced 10 x Orange 10 5200 Replace the BJ Cartridge(Printhead) or reinstall
Cartridge Displaced 11 x Orange 10 5200 Replace the BJ Cartridge(Printhead) or reinstall

Which would mean the print head needs to be either fixed or replaced.

How to fix error code 5200 on canon printer MP258? what is 5200 mean?

Here's the procedure. This code is normally encountered after refilling an ink cartridge and replacing the cartridge. Turn off printer. Hold down Stop/Reset button with one hand and turn printer on with other hand. After green light comes on for the ON button, press the Stop/Reset button two times and you should see the green light blink off and the orange alarm light blink "on" with the first press and then the green light comes back on for the power button and the orange light goes off with the second press (if you did it correctly). Now, you need to hold down the ON button about five seconds, then let go to shut OFF the printer. When you turn it back on, the printer should be back to the factory original condition. Make sure you set all your printer properties the way you want them again from your printer properties dialog boxes because some of the settings may have been stored in the printer's EEPROM, which you just reset to get rid of the offending alarm code.
