Ok lets begin... shut off? ...is the set staying off. NO POwer at all.. does the set try to come on. does the set have a blinking led on front. have you tried unpluging then waiting 30 min then trying to turn it on again.. this set has a processor and when it detectect any fault will shut the set down

Most likely the Horizontal output transistor has shorted. When it shorts it causes the power supply to chirp. This is a common problem with this series of TV. Have a shop check it out. It should not be real expensive.
The first thing that I would check is in the audio menu to see if it is set on the SAP mode (secondary audio programming). If it is and there is no audio being broadcast on that channel, then you would have to turn SAP to off (which is usually what it is set to).
Now there have been problems with the audio dropping out on regular CRT style RCA televisions where the audio would drop out, and you had to unplug the set for about 30 seconds to reset the TV, and I would try that next.
