Question about AEG 24 in. Favorit 40310 Free-standing Dishwasher
Hi, my old faithful AEG has recently developed a problem. It washes OK, but the dial sticks on the final rinse, and it seems like no water is coming in to perform the rinse. There is also a high pitched whine - sounds like a motor or pump. If left like it, the machine gets hotter and there is a burning smell. There is no water in the bottom, so it is draining OK. I suspect that no water comes in for the pre-wash rinse and hold either.
I have checked the water supply and inlet filter, they are OK, because the machine goes through the wash cycle. The dishes are clean, but have salty soap residue.
Any advice gratefully received.

This is typical of a water leak onto electrical connection OR the electrical element has shorted internaly . Check this with a Ohm meter and itshould show the problem

This seems like the anti flood system (polystireen float / micro switch) at the base of the washer is triggered,\. This puts the washer in pump out mode and stops inlet of water via the inlet solinoid. Dry the water on the base and then check for any water leaks. (pipe leak
