Check on wifi if it is lit up, if not try press and hold Fn and F2. verify if the wireless card is detected in devicemanager - it is under network connection - make sure there is no red x or any exclamation mark on it

I replaced the hardrive on my dell inspiron e1505 when the original died but now it does not indicate a wireless connection area-do i need to replace a wireless card?

No. You need to install the driver for the wireless adapter. Go to the Dell website under support, enter your service tag number, go to driver downloads, download the driver for the adapter, and install in your computer.

Dell Latitude D610 won't recognize my wireless card after reinstalling windows when the old hd failed. Have installed all the drivers I can find, it still says that there is not wireless adapter connected...

Open Device Manager and expand "Network Adaptors"
Check to make sure you have a wireless adaptor shown.
If no wireless adaptor is shown I would suggest you contact Dell Support. When posting for computer assistance it always helps to say what your Operating System is.
Sometimes Windows 10 for example will not recognise hardware designed for earlier OS.

Need to reset my Dell Inspiron E1505

Reset it to what? Are you looking to restore it to it's original factory state? If so, follow these steps:

(1) Turn on the computer. When the Dell splash screen appears during the computer startup process, press and hold <Ctrl> and then press <F11>. Then, release both keys at the same time.

(2)
In the Dell PC Restore by Symantec window, click Restore. Alternatively, press <Tab> to highlight Restore, and then press <Enter>.

(3)
When a warning message appears stating that all data will be lost, click Confirm, or press <Tab> to highlight Confirm and then press <Enter>.

The Progress window will appear. Once the restore process starts, Dell PC Restore by Symantec usually takes about 8 to 10 minutes to finish.

When the restore process is complete, the following message will appear: The system recovery process was successful.

(4)
Click Finish or press <Tab> to highlight Finish and then press <Enter> to restart the computer. The software is now installed as it was when the computer was first received.

My Dell E1505 won't allow me to go wireless. My

Ideally, see if we can isolate the issue.

Disable the built-in antenna.

Try connecting to the wireless via a USB wireless antenna. (hopefully you can borrow one).

If you can connect, then I would say you need to replace the built-in antenna. Or you could keep using the USB antenna.

Good luck
