2003 Town & Country - no heat or gauge movement

2003 Town & Country. I get no heat and the temp gauge does not move off of cold. Occasionally after accelerating onto a highway the gauge moves and the heat comes up. Any ideas?

If the coolant level (antifreeze) level is low there may not be enough fluid in the system for the temperature sensor to register a proper reading ( think of it as holding an oral thermometer just outside of your mouth).

Insufficient fluid passing through the heater core (small fan that blows through a small heated radiator) may not be enough to produce heat.

However: At increased speeds the engine may be heating what little fluid there is to a point to supply heat to the heater core, and register on the temperature sensor.

A word of caution though. NEVER open the radiator cap with the engine hot. Give it time to cool off and top off with the proper antifreeze at the correct mixture.

Heat blows cold air front and rear when sitting still or @ low mph.

Usually a sign of low coolant or a blockage in the circulation.

[email protected] van does not heat unless u are moving. when we r stoped it blows cold air and when we move it blows out the heat.

Needs the thermostat replaced = when the car is idleing it doesn't build enough heat, when driving it works harder creating more heat.

2002 town & country will not warm up, no heat coming from heater, temp gauge does not go above C

sounds like your thermostat has stuck open, replace the thermostat and make sure the cooling system is full of coolant that is 50/50 mix of water and antifreeze

2003 chrysler town & country speedometer stuck

sit in the drivers seat close the door. with the key off hold the trip odometer button in then while holding the button in turn the key on. if done correctly this will put the MIC (mechanical instrument cluster) into a self test. if the speedometer does not move like the rest of the gauges during this test the MIC must be replaced. if the speedometer does move it is likely your problem will be fixed, however, if the speedometer does move but it does not start working properly then further diagnostic will be needed.

Heat on, blows cold air on passenger side

u will need to repair the passenger side air temp control blend door, either the door is stuck or the small electric actuator that moves it is defective.
