My glasses end up with sandy residue. Is there a filer and where

no filter like you think the sandy residue is from the detergent and that is because your water is not hot enough.

Sandy residue on clean dishes

I agree. It sounds like hard water deposits. many states have outlawed phosphate as an ingredient in dishwasher detergents, so the detergents don't work as well anymore. New product designed for this very problem. "Greenest" product ever...it's all-natural and comes shipped to use in a re-claimed water bottle!

GE Profile dishwasher doesn't clean!

If you have "powdery film" it sounds like hard water deposits to me. Many states have outlawed phosphate as an ingredient in dishwasher detergents, so the detergents don't work as well anymore if you live in a region with hard water. New product designed for this very problem. "Greenest" product ever...it's all-natural and comes shipped to you in a re-claimed water bottle!

I have just moved into a new rental & the Technika Bellissimo Dishwasher isn't cleaning the dishes particually on top shelf. I have cleaned dish washer from top to bottom (arms as well)It is driving me...

That looks like the Washing powder residue. I am having a similar problem. But I am finding that the heating element isn't working anymore and hence can't rinse with hot water thus appears the soapy residue which dries into a 'sandy' substance as you say. Sorry no solution for you yet, can you check if when it finishes and you open it - its still hot inside?

Dirty dishes

On the quest to save water, dishwashers are very frequently overloaded. On the quest to save detergent, they often don't have enough detergent to wash the residues out of them. Try making your dishwasher run with a full load of detergent, no dishes and a nice amount of bleach in it. Do this once in a while and your dishwasher will eventually work much better. Do be careful about any chlorine fumes.

Sandy glasses

Are you making sure your heater is ok??Water temp should be taken and be 120 or hotter. If its not turn up water heater temperature. If heating coil is not working replace it.It provides the heat to the D/W and aids in the heated Dry cycle. The solution for spotted/foggy glass problems all  start with making sure your water is Hot enough.Rinse aid is the second.
