Change out the gas in the tank. make sure fuel line from tank to carb is clear. if this is all good then you might need to clean and rebuild your carb, if you are not getting fuel through the carb to the engine.

definately a fuel issue.

Tiller won t start

The fact that it started for any length of time, tells you the engine functions. The engine is STARVED of fuel mixture. Either the inside fuel line is clogged and needs to be blown out or the carbonator adjustment is incorrect. Check to see that the spark plug GAP is proper and when placed back into the engine it is hand tight with the spark plug wire formly in place.

Rototiller won't start

A small engine carburetor sitting with gas in it is a a problem waiting to happen the ethanol in fuel clogs carburetors and it sounds like it has done it to yours remove and clean carburetor with carb cleaner that may do the trick or you may have to soak it in cleaner solution and rebuild if the rebuild does not do the trick you may need a new carb as some of the jets are clogged Try to run engine completely out of fuel leaving the carburetor empty s to help with this problem in the future also using a fuel additive for ethanol is helpful

Starter rope hard to pull on mantis tiller

Sounds like your engine may be seized up. Mine did the same thing and I had to replace the block. If any dirt gets past the air cleaner or if your fuel mixture isn't right it won't take long to lock it up. If you need info on where to find parts, let me know. Good luck.

Engin runs fine at idle but stalls out at high idle and wont rev up.

Hi 5flash... Get an assistant and a can of starter fluid. Remove the air cleaner and spray some starter fluid into the air intake. Start it up and spray the starter fluid as you move it to high idle, repeat until it works properly. Joe

Honda Tiller revs and works for 30 seconds and then shuts down.

Hello. you have some gunk in the carburator. Get a can of starter fluid or carburator cleaner aerosol and a helper. Remove the air filter and start it up. Spray a little starter fluid into the air cleaner to keep it running for three or four minutes and the problem should clear. If it does not clear the carburator will have to be disassembled, cleaned and rebuilt. j.

Will not stay running

Hi. You still have junk in your carb. Get a can of starter fluid and a helper. As you run the engine have your helper give it a squirt of starter fluid directed at the air intake until the engine runs smoothly. J.

Pony only runs with chocke 98% closed

Most likely the carburetor jet is still clogged after sitting for years with fuel in it. Putting injector/carb cleaner in the fuel tank may help, but if not, the jet needs to be soaked some more -- or replaced.

Follow mixing proportions on the label for injector cleaner.
