My daughter was driving my van and lost ALL power. at the same time. all systems went down, and the tranmission gear box locked. any ideas?

I have a 2003 Town and Country mini-van and I lost power to all my ... In addition to this my wipers, headlight controls, blinker controls, power door locks, and A/C/heat controls are out as well. The odd thing is that the power windows work, the power sideview mirrors work, the radio and ceiling lights also work.

check for clean tight ground points

Assuming it is a 4L60E trans. The first thing to do is change the filter & replace the fluid. Have the shop check the fluid pressure. Other than that there are numerous things that could cause your problem. Could be the torque convertor on it's way out. P.S.There is no timing belt in a transmission.

When a vehicl is in storage for a long time and hasn't been started ,the oil drains off the gears and any part above the oil line will rust and jam up. Try removing the lock unit as the dedent ball in the unit may be rusted in the out position and not moving out of the way to allow gear selection.Don't be surprised if the gear box and diff make some noise when you drive it.

something went wrong on the electronics and put your automatic gear box on Safe Mode.Call your mechanic.Do not do anything as a scanner is required for a solution.

it sounds like a shift lock solinoid ....this prevents the car from being shifted out of park when ur foot is not on the brake....u will have to bring this to a repair shop since the faulty part is located inside the paneling where ur shifter handle is

Manaul transmission you lost the clutch,Its a double clutch system it doesnt wear that easy,they have tendency just to disconnect that easy

I have the same van, with the same problem. I took it in while the engine light was on and it came back as the crankshaft sensor.

Check temp. sensor that screws into the block. It could be bad or wires disconnected.
