Question about Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 MiniPCI 802.11b

1 Answer

My laptop cant find the card

I have a acer travelmate 370 with the intel pro/wireless 2100 3b card. It worked just fine until a couple of weeks ago when it started to drop the connection. Now it wont work at all. The device manager wont show it, pressing the "activate wireless"-button wont work and the led never goes on. Have also checked the bios but nothing can be done there. Did even update the bios..
Did download the "intel network connection id tool" but it just keep telling me i dont have any wireless hardware installed.
The last time it worked it showed that i had 22mbps connection thou max is 11mbps. Please help me!

We have a Intel wireless-G 2.4 GHz and everything was fine until we moved last week. Now the internet works on this computer that is directly hooked to it and the wireless seems to work but I can't get...

Your Intel wireless-G 2.4Ghz is defective, all you have to do is test another wireless LAN to make it sure that is working via USB panel.
I encounter this kind of problem and wish it would be the same like me. Usually this kind of problem cannot see itself that is defective but it is working good to your PC.
Just try a new wireless LAN if might work.
Good luck!

If i am helpful please rate me.
Thank you.

Wireless help

My dear! alway remember that when you use any new hardware you should install driver first and then plug it with CPU. So it could be possible that when you install driver first then card will pick and work properly.
Thank You

Intel 3945ABG - no connection

usually, on board wireless cards need to be enabled, or physically switched on via a toggle switch, or by pressing a button or a keyboard key (something like Fn + F2). Once it's enabled, a wireless light should turn on. If it appears to be enabled, you can further isolate the problem by checking if other wireless computers can see your router. If not, then the router probably needs to be configured properly.

I have a Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network card on my Toshiba Satellite M50. One fine day, it was working fine on the network at home, and then suddenly got disconnected, and soon after stopped being...

I have the same card with Tecra A4. It was working fine with a D-Link 615 wireless router then for no reason it stop working I was able to detect my wirless network but no communication session started between my card and the router. I restrat the router and change the OS fro Linux to XP but still I have the same problem.

At the end I notice that in simple words my card cannot talk at all with the router. So I went to the router wirless settings and change the protocol from:
mixed 802.11 N, mixed 802.11 G, mixed 802.11 B
to only
802.11 G and 802.11B

Then it works fine onb both Linux and XP

Dwl 650+ dlink airplus not connecting to internet

Howdy,

I had similar problem with this same card. I would work fine then drop out. First, be aware that this is an 802.11b card. Meaning "b" and not "g" or "n". These "b" cards are almost obsolete - short range, etc. BUT - it will work fine if you config the router properly. Make sure that your broadcast is set to the "b only" range or the "both" range and NOT to the "g only" range. If you have another wireless device that is on "g" then you need to set the router for "both" ("b&g").

Secondly, (and this is what got me) if you want to use a secure (locked) wireless network, then be advised that this adapter will ONLY work with WEP encryption. I tried the "fix" D link has to remedy this to no avail. It will not support WPA or WPA-PSK(2). It will only support WEP so set your router accordingly. Once again, if you have other wireless devices then they will also have to be set to WEP encryption as well, WEP is really weak (easier to hack) and outdated - but it works. Do yourself a favor and upgrade to a more modern "g" card. Good Luck.
