Well my lens fell out of the camra and i think the battery died so it got stuck out and now the battery is dead and i have no cord wat dhould i do???

My friend's and I were taking pictures with my camera, and my friend tried giving the camera to my other friend and it dropped. The lens was stuck but we managed to put it back so that it would turn off etc; The problem now is that the picture is pink and blurry. But when I press down on the lens it goes back to normal. But then again, as soon as I let go it goes back to being pink and blurry.
I already checked my local repair stores, and it's $70 for sending it to another place which will tell me how much it's going to cost. I don't have that much money and I need a way of doing this myself.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Took a picture, then camera was in bag for a moment with lens open. when I tried to take another picture it was blurry, then the lens got stuck , "Lens error", kept making noises, had to take batteries...

What you're experiencing is called a lens error. Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

Screen says lens error and it will not close

Hi Dear,

This error is due to some fault in alignment of the lens. This is a hardware problem.
Hence, i will recommend you to take it to nearest service center and hand over it to some technical expert guys. Trying to resolve it on your own might worsen the issue.

Hope this will help you. If you need more information on this, please do write to us.

Have a nice day.

Powershot 200 will not take pictures, displays E18 on otherwise blank screen. Will show pictures stored on card -just will not take any new ones. Lens cover seems inoperable as well.

PowerShot SD630 lens stuck out, says lens error, restart camera

This is probably THE single most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

E 18 problem

The E18 error is fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension.

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for about 50% of lens errors, but they're still worth a try. Good luck! :
