Question about Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G Router
Just bought a new Sony Vaio Laptop and set up a wireless network at home. The WRT54G is hard wired to a an old desktop while the laptop is connected wireless. The laptop loses connection to the router especially after it is taken out of range (out of the house), the router does not recognize it. We have to re-cycle the router to get the signal strength back up. The laptop then looks like is trying to set up a second connection (can see a 2nd identically named laptop)
Any ideas? Thanks
Unless it was installed by the big box retailer when they "optimized" the laptop. I did not install any additional Linksys software on the laptop. Let me double check to see how it is connecting, if I am not mistaken it is using Windows built in wireless management. (it also looks like there was some preloaded Sony software to allow it to be used in a wireless environment) I am wondering if both are trying to connect at the same time?

Libog1 - did you install any additional wireless software to connect to the router (Linksys software) or are you just allowing Vista to connect directly using Windows' built-in wireless management?
