Internet Explorer I got a new pc in July of last year, it has Vista on it. Lately Internet Explorer is constantly coming up "internet explorer is not working" windows is searching for a solution to the problem which always results in it restarting to my google page. Do I have a bug in my browser or what? How can i get rid of it if there is? Also awhile ago, not so much now, but my connection was so very slow and I was always getting booted off my connection completely. Any help would be greatly appreciated. From: LoveHatePc

There is no such thing as a windows vista machine. You can install different operating systems on different machines. Your problem is most likely that you're missing drivers for the peripherals.
Download a program called "driver easy" and run it. It will tell you what drivers are missing, once you get all the drivers installed you should find things work better, like once you get your network running then internet explorer will stop having problems.

I lost my emails since I upgraded from windoows xp to windows 7

Features available through Yahoo! Mail include unlimited storage, the ability to view photos and videos from your inbox and the ability to send 50 files or 100MB worth of attachments in a single email.

You can also access Yahoo!'s instant messaging software from your inbox and check email on your mobile phone and other Internet-enabled devices.

Before signing up for Yahoo! mail, check its compatibility with your version of Internet Explorer.Standard Yahoo! Mail

Yahoo! Mail's standard interface works with Internet Explorer 7 and higher. However, Internet Explorer 7 users may be unable to use the reply bar, slideshows or Yahoo! Messenger from their inbox.

To access these features, use at least Internet Explorer 9. All Internet Explorer users must have Windows 7, XP or Vista to use the standard form of Yahoo! mail. Mac operating systems using Internet Explorer are not supported by the current version of Yahoo! Mail.
Older Option

Users who want to use Yahoo! Mail Classic will find it compatible with Internet Explorer 6, as well as newer versions of the browser.

Yahoo! announced to customers in July 2011 that it would soon stop supporting Internet Explorer 6. Yahoo! Mail Classic works with Windows 2000, XP and Vista, as well as Windows 7.

Yahoo! Mail Classic lacks many of the upgrades found in the current version of the email program.

Upgrades
While Yahoo! Mail supports older versions of Internet Explorer, the company recommends that users upgrade to the most current version.

Yahoo! says using the newest browser software provides more speed and added protection against viruses and software.
Enabling ActiveX

If you plan to use the current version of Yahoo! Mail on a Windows machine, you'll want to enable your computer's ActiveX controls so you can access all the features of the email program.

To do this, go to the "Tools" menu or the gear symbol in Internet Explorer, then select "Internet Options" and "Security."

Click on "Internet," then "Custom Level."
Scroll down to "Run ActiveX Controls and Plugins" and "Script ActiveX Controls Marked Safe for Scripting." Enable each of these options and save your settings.

Reboot Internet Explorer.

Stop using Windows 98 -- MIcrosoft stopped supporting it, two years ago, and stopped supporting Windows 2000 as of July 13, 2010. Buy a new computer, with Windows 7 preinstalled, and your problems will be circumvented.

Uninstall internet explorer 8 and try reinstalling it. If that dont work i would seriously think of doing away with Vista and go buy a Windows 7 upgrade disk.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 that 2.5 years old. Lately after about 10 minutes or so, IE does not respond, hangs and goes to grey.

Those are the common issues with Internet Explorer. May I know the version of the Internet Explorer installed in the Computer? The best option is to reset the Internet Explorer and delete all the personal settings once. You can reset the Internet Explorer by following:
  • Open the Internet Explorer.
  • Click on Tools and select Properties.
  • In the Properties window, click on Advanced tab.
  • Now, click on reset and check Delete Personal settings option.
You can also change the Web browser to Firefox as it is more flexible compared to IE,

Keep getting that internet exlorer is not responding.

Tabbed browsing using Internet explorer is like running multiple instances of Internet explorer, and depending on how your computer is using its resources, IE could be taking up the little that is left, thus your processor is overworked, and your memory is maxed out. On the other hand, you might just have a defective installation of the progra, that you could either repair through control panel > Add/Remove programs or even update
Websites with a lot of graphics will determine how much of your system resources Internet explorer will demand in addition to its required resources.
Just to add a little perspective, if you have a laptop, with 'an almost full harddisk' and a processor at say 2GHz, 2GB of RAM, and Windows Vista, McAfee or Norton Antivirus, Internet Explorer 6 through 8, Office 2007, Spybot S&D and a series of other programs that are constantly running, you're doomed, because if all those programs run their services, your computer will constantly freeze
