Question about SanDisk Sansa e250 MP3 Player

1 Answer

USB Malfunction Just bought a e250. Hooked it up and loaded about 85 songs on it. Worked great for 24 hrs, until I tried to connect with USB cable to load more songs. Now when I connect I get an error message stating a malfunction and windows does not recognize the device. I have Xp. Not too computer savvy so laymans terms are needed. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Well I fixed the problem. After taking it to work to try my other computer I found that it caused all the USB ports to not work on that computer as well. I figured out that the problem lies in the player itself. Instead of wasting more time trying to get the driver to load and the computer to recognize any of my USB ports, I took a long look at the player and then just smashed it on the ground. Sure I just bought it and I'm out the $ but damn it felt good to see that piece of junk that caused all the problems on 2 of my computers shatter across the floor. Watch out for those ebay refurb Sandisk players. Lesson learned, never again.

Oh God. I have the same problem. but my grandparents got it for me, so i can't find the courage to throw it away. too much sentimental value. see, i put Rockbox on it. it was working fine for a while. this sucks. the good thing - you can copy/cut/paste/delete/move....etc. with Rockbox. so i just put the music on the microSD through the computer, then put it into the player and cut/paste.

Your battery might be dead.

Connect the player to a computer with the usb cable.

You should see a progress bar indicating the the battery is charged. Wait until it's fully charged.

I am having the exact same problem. I put songs on the MP3 player and it hasn't worked since. I'm not getting any help or support. If you find out what the problem is, please contact me. This is is so disappointing to buy a Xmas present that doesn't work!

First switch your USB control to MSC. Then turn off your mp3 player and activate the hold icon. Then turn it on while holding the record button with hold icon still being activated. then it will go to recovery mode. Now plug your sandisk into the computer and wait until it says RECOVERY COMPLETE...PLEASE DISCONNECT or when it just says for you to disconnect. This worked on my sandisk, and it hopefully work for you.

E250--several problems lol

it could be either a bad usb hub or cord for the sandisk e250, but it would most likely be that one of your CD's is either corupted, or your sandisk detects a virus and is skipping through the song.
