Are you talking about the power adapter?

  • jovel94 Mar 03, 2008

No the light is not flashing . It looks like the monitor is not getting any power .

Is the power light flashing at all? The Apple Cinema Dispays have error light sequences that can help you diagnose your problem.

Well, then we've narrowed it down to a power problem.

The Apple Cinema Displays have their power transformer EXTERNAL to the display itself. It is in the "power brick" that you plug into wall.

If there is an Apple Store near you, just take the power supply in and ask them to test it. Hopefully it won't work, and you can just buy a new one to solve your problem (relatively) cheaply.

Or if you have access to another Cinema Display, you can test the power supply on that instead.

If the power supply proves to be fine, then your options get more daunting and/or expensive.

Besides the inverter, there really aren't any user-serviceable parts inside. And we know it's not an inverter problem, since you aren't getting that (or indeed any) diagnostic power light blink.

You will probably at that point need to turn to a repair technician.

I've never even seen Apple display components other than the inverter and assorted screws for sale. Working on the internal power components is where I bow out. There are Apple display repair facilities that aren't quite as pricy, though.

Hello!

Please do and verify any fuse blownout in the inlet of the power from the wall, if it is not visible then maybe you open the the back cover and try to see any parts that has error or blown. you should replace it with genuine replacement parts. however it hard to do this by a novice tech, My suggestion is to bring the unit to the nearest service center maybe the unit got warranty service or else maybe its a cheap or resonable cost.

may this help!

best regards, melnavz

If you power adaptor, and sure that it is good, then the unit got error inside. is the power adaptor is good, Did you test and examine it?

so if the monitor flashing power or indicated power then maybe you should fix the some cable connection on all the system. but if the monitor is totally dead then refer to my first suggestion.

The only way to test is to use a known working power supply or known working cinema display with the parts you already have.
