I am having an issue with the amount of files I can store on my SD card. I have the Sansa C240 and I got a Lexar micro SD card but it only allows me to download a little over 500 mb of info not the 2 gb that I am supposed to be allowed to.

i have filled the storage in my c240, but i cannot load anything onto my micro sd card.

my computer(xp) will find the internal memory of the device but not the external.

the card works fine in my phone. and i can load things that way. but i want to be able to load it into my mp3 player.

any advice on how to make it show up?????

Hi,
I just purchased 3 of these Sansa c240's for my kids to use on a roadtrip over the holidays and while doing some research on them I did find an article someone posted that stated she found wonderful information from the Sandisk forums regarding "how to" format the sd cards to get the to correctly the work with C240. Just thought I would share that info with those of you who are having problems with your sd cards. Good Luck.

If you have another device to test the card in, try that. Then you will know if the card is bad.

Sandisk Sansa C250 won't recognize 8Gig micro chip

Your model doesn't natively support SD cards over 4GB, however I hear you can install something called "Rockbox," it's a free third party firmware that allows you to dual boot between "Rockbox" and the Sansa firmware. "Rockbox" adds the support you need for SD cards with a capacity of 4GB or more. I've never used this firmware, but it does sound promising.
Download it here
Sorry I couldn't be more help.

My sansa player does not recognize a micro sd when its inserted

Sorry, it doesn't work that way. You can use a separate card reader to put files onto the microSD card. When the card is installed into the Sansa, the Sansa will see the additional music.

Micro sd 4gb card problems.

Check the Sansa tutorials at http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1468
to make sure you have followed all the steps first.

In my experience, every mp3 player/photo frame/etc with a card reader has a MAXIMUM memory limit for the type of card that it can read. It is possible that the Sansa player can only read 2GB Micro SD cards or smaller - and thisi nformation may not have been available when they printed the manual. If you have followed all instructions, and it still will not read the card, try switching to a 2GB Micro SD card.

4 GB micro sd and the Sandisk Sansa e250R...

If the 4gb micro SD is a high capacity SD (it will say micro SDHC on it) your player may not be able to read SDHC cards, my sansa can't because it's the 'older version' it will read 2gb and below micro SD cards though (it sucked when I found out because I had just bought a 6gb micro SDHC)

Sansa Hack!!! please help!

You device is too full. You need minimum 6MB for the "music database". The more music you have, the bigger the database needs to be. Try freeing up 30MB or so, that should solve it. Please add to the question, dont select NOT HELPFUL if this didnt work. Best of Luck.
