Hp Officejet printer very slow

Can anyone tell how to determine why my HP Officejet Printer is so very slow. It moves the paper into the feeder and then it stalls and waits. Sometimes it takes 2-3 minutes to print one page of typed manuscript. I have done a number things to try and get it faster, including change the printer settings to the faster printing option. There is adequate available computer memory so that is not the problem. The printer is connected to my home network but I don't think that this is the problem. Any suggestions or directions will be appreciated. Printing very slow . Was working very good before. Just put new ink in it and differant paper. (better quality paper)

How remove feeder tray from 6600

Hi Ed Walsh,

When you say feeder tray, are you speaking of the document feeder tray, or the paper input tray? The document feeder tray is not customer replaceable so it will not be removable. The input paper tray is however removable. Perhaps you will find the support page for your Officejet 6600 helpful:

The paper you scan is stuck

There is debris blocking the paper path in the document feeder. This could be a staple or a shard of torn paper blocking the path wedged into a tooth of the diverter arm or a sensor flag. I would suggest that if there is a small wheel or knob closest to you when you raise the document feed lid, put a piece of #28 lbs card-stock into the document feeder guides, turn the wheel/knob to pull the paper/cardstock into the ADF and continue until it either pushes the shard/debris out or stops moving the paper no matter how much you turn the wheel/knob. This will tell you where in the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) the blockage is located.

Using Fax and will not pull in papers to be faxed

You may have selected to fax from glass or you may have a piece of paper on the glass. If your placing the paper in the document feeder and it is still not rolling in. Check to see that there isn't anything jamming the feeder. The thing that activates the feeder and tells the printer to fax or scan from feeder is a small spring latch that sits internally at the top part of the cover and when ever paper is fed through it, it will engage the feeder. This small spring latch can easily come off or disengage from the unit especially if you have recently moved the printer. Check to see if it's a spring problem. If it is all you have to do is place it in place and all should work as normal. Be very careful not to force anything and gentle with any other component that you may encounter while looking, they can easily brake off.
Hope this works for you!
