Starting with printer in off condition holding reume and then power respectively, now press resume twice and and release power button le green light blink until printhead has finished moving now is the most crucial information that has to be followed

there is a encoder strip in the printer to which the cartridge head carriage reads .if this encoder strip is dusty or loose the carriage cannot read so it bangs from left to right.and due to this printer cannot get set to its position.and the orange error light blinks.that transperant long strip with blacl vertical lines on it has to be checked.

Hold down RESUME and then hold down POWER 3. Release RESUME 4. press RESUME twice, then release POWER 5. let green light blink until printhead has finished moving. 6. Select functions below with RESUME, execute with POWER

I had the same problem. tried resetting the "waste ink tank" counter and it didn't work. I ended up taking out the printhead (pull up on the Grey lever) when I put it back in the printer worked! Good Luck!
I solve mine (4 Yellow Flash + 1 Green) by pushing on the white gear, located at the end right inside, where the cartridges are cleaning. This help the movement of the gear, it was stuck or gem. Do this when you just turning on the printer, then you ear the cycle noise, Your fingers will sense the movement of the gear. Tips: Push the cartridges block to the left to let you enough space to put your hand inside. Now it work normally.
hi, the blinking is caused by a fault in the printer, means it needs to be serviced, its usually more expensive for them to fix it than buying a new one, but you can get there number off the canon website.
The user guide for that product says that 7 flashes means the printhead is defective and that you should contact Canon's customer care.
If you've recently replaced the print cartridge(s), try putting the old one(s) back in.
If the printhead is truly defective, there may be no choice but to contact Canon or replace the printer.
