Question about Magellan RoadMate 2200T GPS Receiver
I purchased a Magellan 2200T GPS - and when plug in to my computer I get the message on the screen of the GPS unit stating that USB is connected, but if I try to download updates, anything, my computer doesn't see the GPS. Any suggestion would be helpful!!
SOURCE: No communication with computer
I would try downloading the USB driver from magellan (if they offer it). You may also be able to get the driver from C-Map USA as the do the map software for magellan.

knowing they later demand payment) I'll get spam

SOURCE: Computer does not recognize it
assuming your using a windows xp or 2000 os, try another cable if you have one..turn the gps off, plug in the usb cord and restart the gps. if that fails, if the cable is connected to a port on the front of the computer, move the usb cable to a rear port on the computer and try the previous way i just explained.
if those fail, disconnect all usb devises connected to the pc and restart the computer and try again. (always use a rear port on the pc if you can)
