Question about Printronix Line Matrix P5210 Printer
Serial # 480639348998 Folks, I am having difficulty with my printer not accepting new printer ribbons. When the last ribbon ran out, which worked fine, the P7210 tells me the barcodes on the ribbon spools are damaged. I have tried rotating the ribbons, cleaning the top of the reading laser/light, adjusted the platen, and tried 4 new unopened ribbons, all with the same result. When I put the old ribbon back inside, the printer accepted it until it ran completely out, and the new ribbons were rejected (all due to barcode damage). I inspected the barcodes, and if there were some of the black bars incomplete, I took a dark marker to fill in the scratched surfaces of the black areas. Still, with no success.

If bar code is damaged than printer will give the error, pl. use the
new ribbon .
