Ok. I got this RCA Pearl from my sons Aunt, she didnt have instructions for it so I basically have learned to work it my self. Well it was working fine on Friday, and then my twin sisters came over and one of them had it, not too sure if they messed it up but it wont let me play any of the songs. I puch the play button and the screen kinda jumps...? I dont know... help!!
Sorry for jerks like the previous guy ..... if you have windows XP (service pack 2) just plug in to a USB slot.. you should get a "New device" or "installing new device" if it the 1st time plugging it in. Open Windows Media and there should be a Sync tab. click this and it will open the Pearl player.. it will show what you have in there (if any music is already on player) You can now drag any music on windows media player to the Pearl.... write back if any more questions... The first time I tried to restore the firmware in my Pearl it would not recognize it. I had to follow all the troubleshooting instructions that popup when you run the software. Basically, try taking the battery out and waiting 10 seconds or so. Run the software and read all the instructions at the bottom of the popup window. then hold the play button, plug your player in, and keep holding that button until the software recognizes it. It works.
If you used the 2.0 version firmware this should restore the firmware and you would need to reload the music files. Not sure if there is a master reset or clear but if there is, do it then reload the firmware and reload the music files. Make sure that all the files you are putting on are ok.
This is all I see, it is listed under update but this is not an update, this is the firmware that runs the player,so make sure that you are installing it the exact way that any instructions say.
i think the one causes it is the improper unplugging of your son maybe the program of your mp3 player was corrupted. You try to plug it on your pc then try to check if your pc detects it. if its detected try to check it on your mp3 player application and see if theres a repair function on it, if not, well you better look for a function that formats your mp3 player
