The tv comes on for a second then the screen goes black and then all I hear is the sound. I've checked the connection several times and the same thing happened when I hooked it up to the computer pc connection.

Hi,

I am assuming that you are referring to the same monitor working only if the PC is in Safe Mode but not in Regular Mode.

This is possibly due to the Screen Resolution and/or the Refresh Rate Settings of your Video Card to way too high for the monitor. While in Safe Mode lower these settings in your Display Properties.

.Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Sounds like T'Con board fault. Contact any service technician. When video signal interfaces, it goes overloaded. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. Do a search by type in the brand name of your device at its search box and press "Enter".

Make sure you are in the right input, pc mode, so the VGA connector can pick up the signal.

I can not get TV to pick signal from PC

I had a problem where my VO22L was giving me a "No RGB Signal" "The Power Will Be Turned Off" message when I had it in RGB mode (with VGA input from my PC). Anytime I left my PC on and turned off the power of this unit, I got this message. I just got off the phone with a very friendly and patient Tech Support woman at Vizio, who talked to several different techs who all came up with things that didn't help. Finally, while we were talking, she came up with the idea of going into the settings menu and doing a "System Reset" to see what happens. What do you know, it worked!

To anyone else having this problem, try this. With the PC and TV on, in RGB mode, go into the menu screen with the remote. The far right tab is "Setup". Use the arrow keys to go down to the "System Reset" option. When prompted "are you sure" select "Yes". I powered the monitor off and on, and the problem is gone. Now if it happens again, I know what to do.

Using 42HP66 as a Computer Monitor for a Compaq Presario 2150NX Desktop

Reboot your PC! When the pc starts booting up push F8 it will take you to the same screen asking you if you want to run the pc in safe mode! What you want to do is to select the Start PC in VGA mode! It should set your video card to a default setting allowing it to work with the TV!

I hope this helps you!
