Question about JVC AV-27230 27" TV
Picture too dark even with brightness turned up to high. Very poor picture quality.
Assuming the CRT is still OK, it could either be:
1. Screen Voltage is low;
2. G2 B+ is out (common problem is a mega ohm resistor open);
3. a resistor gone high (or open) in the DA converter of the controller IC circuitry.
Any of the above would require extensive knowledge of electronic circuitry and components, use of a DVM and a soldering iron. Perhaps your best bet may be to seek the services of a professional.
Pls likewise consider the age of the TV (if a couple of years) and/or the downtime and cost of repair,. it may be more practical to purchase a replacement unit.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.
