Same problem. Drain/intake light was on. Did all the things book said to clean filters. Called service dept. went through their instructions. Nothing changed. Told service call would be $175 just to enter my house plus cost of part. I was told that the motor had burned out because part of the propellar blade was broken. Since nothing went past the fillters I can't understand what could have broken the propellar blade. So the motor was replaced at a cost of $289.65 add to $175.00 service call. The bill with taxes came to $504.96. What I can't understand is how could the motor look so corroded, what could have gotten past the filters to damage the motor. I'm wondering if it isn't a manufacturer's defect. Any case the part cost seems excessive when added to the service call which only less than an hour.

I have same dishwasher and same problem, I've cleaned out all filters, arms, checked all connections, etc. and still doesn't work. I think problem might be related to the electronics. Past experience with electronic dishwashers tells me there is a way to reset the control pushing a combination of the button controls, but there is no advice on this in the operating instructions. Any advice would be appreciated....Thanks a million!

    hi everyone,

i assume that if you are reading this Short message you are probably in the same "what the hell"situation as I used to be.

the red light came up, cabin full of dirty water, 30min to clean this mess up and still the red light.

I think i have been lucky, I switched the dishwasher off for one hour, then switched back on and now it's working properly. hope your situation is gonna end like mine.

This just happened to me (my hands are still dripping from cleaning out the water at the bottom of the tub). Frustrated because I had cleaned the filters, bailed out the water with a cup, yet the light was still flashing. I finally followed the troubleshooting guide in the operating manual and held down the start/stop button for 5 seconds, while the machine was on, which seemed to reset everything. Works fine now.

There is a small panel, behind the toe plate. You need to remove two screws, and the 5 inch metal plate comes off. Inside this there is a reservoir, that when it fills up with water, trips a float/switch. the float swithc is suposed to trigger the water pump to drain the reservoir. Then, the machine must dry out so the electronics un-trip themselves. You will see when you remove the plate. What I did was manually dry the reservoir with paper towels - this seems to fix the issue - problem is, where is the water coming from?????

This happened to me and I noticed there was about 4 inches of dirty water that hadn't drained from the dishwasher. I took out all of the water, cleaned the filters and then started the dishwasher again. It worked. Good Luck.

I have a Miele Built-In Icognito 658/850 SCVi. The intake/drain light is on, and I have followed the directions in the manual. The light turns off after I follow the directions and the unit turns on but...

Check to see if the water shut-off valve (located under the sink, it is an electromagnet valve, located at the pipe's entrance to the machine) is open. If you get water to the dishwasher, but there is still no water inside during the fill cycle, the problem might be with a faulty water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side), in which case replace the water valve.

Red intake light comes on and dishwasher will not drain, model g 843 scvi

The manual is available here: http://www.miele.ca/miele/canada/OperatingInstructions/manuals.asp?ParFolder=Dishwashers&SubFolder=Previous%20models . Scroll down through the list to the G643 G843 Incognito. The maintenance items listed below are detailed on page 44 and beyond of the manual.

The Intake light is also the Drain error light. If the light is flashing, then turn off the dishwasher and clean the triple filter, the drain pump and the non return valve and make sure that there are no kinks in the drain hose.

Make sure the water is ccoming in at a pressure above 4.5 psi. Also make sure that the water valve is open and clean the water intake filter.

The final possibility is that the Waterproof system has tripped and you need a Miele technician to service the unit.

I hope this helps.

WATER BUILD UP UNDERNEATH DISHWASHER WHERE MOTOR IS AND SENSOR THINKS IT IS FLOODED HOW DO i REMOVE THE WATER

Water under the dishwasher could be from a leaking hose or loose hose connection. Check these by removing the bottom front panel. Also chec the seals for the heating element, door, main tub, float. You need to run the dishwasher at least every other day or the seals can dry out
