Updated HP Compaq d220M to XP Pro, Downloaded all available drivers from, but can't distiguish which file contains the USB controller drives, don't have original install disk unit was sold without OS,,,,any thoughts??

If you are trying to install the driver for the Broadcom ethernet NIC that was pre-installed (NOT an ethernet card that you purchased and installed yourself), there is a softpack (updated driver installation) download available from HP/Compaq. It will install the driver automatically for you, just download it from the link below and run the ".exe" file.
IMPORTANT: Check to be sure that your current Operating System, and model of the network device you are trying to install, are BOTH listed below BEFORE you download!

HP has not released specific audio drivers for your operating system,
use the Microsoft Windows Update utility, or search the Microsoft web

We had the same problem and tried all of the drivers & even the expired link here, but then went back and discovered the PRO 100 drivers contained in the HP Intel PRO/1000 GT drivers download file sp33671.exe (64 MB), 220.127.116.11 A (4 Sep 2006). Choose to extract to a non-temporary folder, it will produce C:\swsetup\SP33671\PRO100\Win32\ by default and that is where we found the driver. Hope it helps!
