Katana II likely water damage... Help!

I was riding my motorcycle and had my phone in my "water proof" pocket, a little water got in becuase I saw some drops on the screen when I opened it. It was completely black like it ran out of batteries, so I tried pluging it in and turning it on. I've gotten a Sanyo with a white background but it just stays like that for about 20 seconds and then turns off, it will turn on like that about 1/7 attempts.... I'm going to try to dry it, anything else I can do?

I dropped my Katana II 6650 in a water puddle. I pulled it out quick and took the battery out and dried it. It looks and works like normal except that no on ecan hear me when i talk. i can hear them, i can text, everything. They just can't hear me talk.. suggestions???

Mine fell in water too, and I've had the same problem--no one can hear me, but everything else seems to be working fine. What did you end up doing? Did it work?

I also have experienced water damage. I grabbed my katana II with a wet hand after coming out of the shower. Everything works except that no one can hear me when i talk to them ( i can hear them). I can sen/receive texts...and do everything else.

Take the battery off, unfold the phone, set it in a warm, dry place and pray like heck. plugging it in may help it stay warm but leave it off.
If its minor water exposure it'll likely be fine in 2-3 days.

Katana II

if you are using a new katana you can either memorize or write down teh button sequence to navigate to the bluetooth settings that need to be changed for the data transfer to occur. thats what i had to do with mine after i ran it over with a snow plow. phone still works just no display... and its in two pieces. it took about an hour to get it all right, but it should work.

Can i insert a memory card to my katana 2 cellular phone?

The Katana II is a good durable phone and well priced, has a 21 Mb internal memory but, does not sport a memory card slot. It is not a GSM phone and therefore does not utilize a SIM card. So the answer is no. You can, however, download your data to a computer from a memory card such as a SIM, SD, Micro SD, Memory Stick (Sony), XD, or CF using software tools, the proper USB cable, and a Digital Concepts 6 slot card reader or the like, and then upload them to your Katana II. The only limitation is the size of the internal memory. If I did not work at a cell repair shop with all the goodies available, I would take it to a service store and pay the pros. It can get a little tricky.

Weak roaming signal with Sprint Katana 2 cellphone

Call sprint and ask them to flag you for a PRL update. Then dial *2 and it will automatically update.

I checked in the Katana II menu and there is no option to update the PRL

Can you do a hard restart on a Katana II?

You can do a hard reset on the phone which will erase everything but you have to know the Master Subsidy Lock code on your device. If you can't turn the device on that will not work though because you have to access the Erase Tool from the menu while the phone is on. Have you every exposed it to any kind of liquid or extreme physical damage? If the device will not charge the battery, it sounds like you have a loose charging port. Take it to the Sprint Service Center and see if they can issue a brand new battery and check to see if there is physical damage to the port.

Sanya Katana will not power on and it has a fully charged battery

I must say that Wiska, cell phone are water accepting thing. It absorb water from climate like AC and fog. If it is realy damaged by falling in water then the service people can deny the claim. Otherwise there is no moral right to reject claim of valued customers. OK... It is their lookout. Let us discuss the problem. Now u can not do anything if they are not ready to accept their responsibility. But don't worry, there is another way. Any skilled technician can repair it after check wether it is short, open or leakage. This things are basic which are their routin testing of any circuit. There are lot of technician who posssess enough skills to workout this problem. Only ask fixya for such serviceman arround you.
