I have D-link wireless router M# DI-524. I installed a netgear wireless reciever in a P/C downstairs, the computer recognizes the connection to the router and says its a strong signal, but is requiring a...

ok, i had the same problem

the details should be:
username: poweruser
password: password
(yes, the password actually is password, once you connect you can change the password later by typing in the address of the router into a browser, using the details to log on to the router and have a look at the settings)

if the details dont work, google "default login for <router company name and model: for example: Netgear CG123456 (this one doesnt exist, i made up the model number) >"

hope this helps

Setting up router,i pressed enter where the password was..i dont remember what it was

If you reset the router to factory specs it should fix this problem. To reset you can either find the reset button on the back of the router or unplug the router for 30 seconds. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

I am trying to set up my wireless router to my three computers but the user name and password are not working that the guy gave me i am just tryin to get hte manual to help me

Hello there
all you have to do is reset the router, you will find a small button or hole underneath or at the back of the unit, hold it in for 30 seconds and the username and password are cleared.
I do suggest however that you get the routers software disk and set your own password as your network will be unsecured and you will have set up a wifi hot spot

kind regards and please don't forget to rate us

I would like to change the password of my linksys router.

The easiest method of resetting your Linksys router’s password is to reset your router back to the default factory settings. This is done by simply holding down the reset button located on the back of the unit for at least 30 seconds. Once the router has been reset, it must be reconfigured. Using your web browser go to URL address http://192.168.1.1. You will then be prompted to login to your router. A log-in screen asking for the password will automatically appear. At this time enter the default password “admin”, in lower case letters into the password field. The username field may be left blank at this time. (Note: both the default username and default password are set to “admin” on some of the newer Linksys router models).

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Can not get security for dlink

You may need to access your router setup page to verify the wireless settings in the router. Using a computer that is wired to the router, open up IE and type 192.168.0.1, that is the default IP address of your router. Then, a window will open asking for a username password. The username by default is admin. Just leave the password field empty.

Once you're in the setup page, click on WIRELESS tab which on the left side of the page. On the Wireless page, you will see the wireless settings set in the router. You may also enable the wireless security on that page if there is not security enabled yet.

Please check this for your reference http://support.dlink.com/Emulators/di524/h_wireless.html

Hope this helps!

Cant remember the password or username to access my router

Hello,

Depending on the type of router, there you be a factory reset button on the back of the eqpt that you can insert something about the size of a paperclip into for about 10 seconds while the power is on.

NOTE: Once this is done, you will lose all configuration and passwords on the router. After that, you can refer to the manual for the default password on your router. Some routers have default passwords and others you can leave blank.

Hope this helps. Please remember to rate this information.

Thanks

I need to install a Linksys Wireless router to my pc.

Could we have the model number of the router please?

On older LinkSys routers, the default username is blank and the default password is "admin." On newer Linksys routers, both the default username and the default password are set to "admin."
