When you need help with a router user name and password, We need following information
1 Router make and model
2 Have you ever set a password?
3 Do you know how to access router login page
4 How old is the router
5 Did you purchase it or got is as a gift?
Please post above information and we can help you!
to access the router page for linksys, you need to type 192.168.1.1 on the address bar. username is
" admin " password is " password " if it doesnt work, try "admin" for username and "admin" for password. then it would take you to the router page. and you can start configuring.
In your routers settings, generally under DHCP, there is a client lease time setting that will sometimes make the router disconnect the computer. Go into your router's admin page, generally by opening your web browser and typing in the IP address of your router. Many routers don't have a password in place to access the admin page, however, some use username and password as 'admin', or username 'admin' and password is left blank.
Check this client lease setting, this has been the problem with other persons I have helped with the same problem.
Let me know if you have any other questions. If so, please remember to include the model and sub model (if one exists) of your router.
If you found this answer helpful, please remember to leave positive feedback.
If you have never set up any password for it then it is normally set as the default password which is written somewhere on the router or else in the manual. Now you can access that password by going into the router settings from any of the 2 pc which is hardwired to the router. You need to know the router ip address which is normally in the format of 192.x.x.x as x representing some whole numbers, this is normally written somewhere on the manual or on the router itself. Once you are in the router settings, then look for wireless set up and change it to a password that you prefer. Hope this helps. Any question please feel free to ask. Remember that changing the password will require a pc hardwired to the router.
Hi friend,
As you have mentioned that the password is changed, so, I would like to tell you thst you can not recover your old password, however, you can reset the router to factory settings and can recreate the password for the router again.
NOTE: Resetting the router, will take the router to factory settings that is all your wired and wireless connections will be lost and router needs to be reconfigured.
Are you speaking about the wireless network password? For this you will need to access the setup page of the router? Connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable. open the setup page of the router. Go to wireless tab and change the wireless settings. If you want to change the ' Router ' password then go to administration tab and change the router password.
What is the brand of the router your using? This information will be from the router that you have. Use a wired connection from the router, check your default gateway (ipconfig) and type that numbers in your address bar. You will be able to access your set-up page, look for wireless tab and look for wireless security. You will see there your WEP key.
If the version number of your router 5 and below the default ip of it is 192.168.0.1 and username is "admin" password is "password", because there is a possibility that the 192.168.1.1 is your modem, Better check the default gateway of the pc that is working with the router to make sure that your accessing the correct router ip.
If the default gateway of the working pc is 192.1687.1.1 and "admin" "password" not working reset the router by pressing the reset button for 30 seconds so it will be back to its default settings.
