You don't have to reinstall windows, just run the recovery console and and type.
copy D:\i386\ntldr c:
copy D:\i386\ntdetect.com c:
ATTRIB -h -r -s c:\boot.ini
Where D: is your CD Rom and C: is your Bootable HDD.

Press f2 when you turn it on and you will enter bios look for boot from cd press esc then f10 and save settings then it will boot from cd first

Hopefully they will have installed the "Recovery Console" you can go into it and repair windows instead of choosing last know good.....
