If you bought a "brand new" computer from your friend then it should be under warranty, so call Toshiba. You'll probably have to ship it in and pay for the fix. That's how Dell does it. You must also be able to prove you own the computer (a receipt) to prevent stolen computers from having the password reset.

Not Easy Password Protection On Toshiba Laptops, Are Very Hard To Crack. Thank goodness, this Renders them useless to Thieves And Other Vagrants.
there are Ways Methods And services Available.
But Most services are chargable, Why did,nt you simply ask your friend for The Password ?
I suspect she forgotton It :)
