Broken Vivicam screen

The X024 is designed primarily as a still camera. It does not record sound in video mode. You can add a soundtrack using video-editing software on a computer, but you cannot record one on this camera.

The Vivitar X024 does not have an optical zoom, only a digital zoom.

Make sure the LCD is not cracked. Sometimes these cracks may not be visible to the bare eye. have you stepped on it, put something on it or anything similar?

Just in case it is your LCD, see if your warranty covers it, if not you are better off buying a new laptop. One of my friends paid $500 on an Acer, he stepped on it, warranty wouldn't cover it and he was asked to pay $400 to have it fixed.

If this is a software problem, I can't think of anything else but the Screen properties, like Colors, or resolution.I can only think this is a hardware problem.

I think that if there's a little bit of camera image that is faint, that the lcd is cracked inside somehow. I'm not sure.

Have you tried to take pictures to verify if the other parts of it work?

And yes, it is bad packaging. Vivitar has started putting stickers on the packages warning that there is a CD inside.
