Blue Screen while installing drivers for DELL wireless Photo966 printer. I have a DELL INSPIRION E1505 Laptop, running windows XP, 1.66GHZ, 1GIG RAM, 68.4 GIG harddrive (51.9 available). I have installed and uninstalled the program numerous times and performed system restore twice and still have the problem while installing. I get the blue screen before the program completes the installation of the program. The error says I might not have enough disk space (I have 51.9 Gigs available). It says I might not have enough memory (it says to disable bios memory options such as CACHING or SHADOWING " I don't know how ") It says ckeck my bios manufacturer for bios upgrades ( I don't know where to look ). Stop codes are " STOP: 0x0000007e (0x0000005 0x00000000 oxf794c7c8 0xf794c4c4). I went to MIRCOSOFTS bug code website the last 2 codes ( 0xf794c7c8 0xf794c4c4 ) are not listed on the web site and I cannot get a fix. I have sucessfully installed this program on a ( Dell 1520 laptop running windows vista) and also (an old HP desk top running windows XP 256 K of ram) I AM AT A LOSS !!!!!!!!!!!! CAN YOU HELP? DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS ????? Thank You Mike Drake

Hi,
theres A possibility that your Printer Or printer Cable Is at fault here.
If you,ve tried the printer On two Different computers And Coming up with The same error/problem. i personnaly would put the printer as suspect.
try it another Computer, if it fails 3 times, think about the Printer Being at fault Rather than the computers your trying to Install Them To :)

You have an hardware compatibility issue between some of your devices (maybe the printer or RAM)and windows, this cause the fatal exception in question. This is usually not a big problem, but is difficult to troubleshoot it from here in few lines. A way to fix it is doing a fresh Windows installation after you do a backup of all your stuff. If you have some spare RAM you can also try replacing them to test it. Faulty RAM causes similar phoenomena.

You would have to re-install the ENTIRE Operating system IF you do NOT have a Recovery Partition or Norton's Ghost, which was common on many older Dell Computers.

I had to restore my dell inspirion E1505, and it says i have no wireless network, how do i turn this worless network back on?

Hi,
You need to check for the wireless switch located on your laptop. Once the wireless switch is on, you'll be able to see networks in range and you will be able to connect to your network wireless.
Good Luck!

Cant get any drivers to work on my dell after i reformatted the drive and re installed windows xp. I have a dell inspiron E1505 and the only driver I could get to work from dells website is the nVidia...

There are several different drivers listed for each category under your laptop model and Windows XP:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&ServiceTag=&SystemID=INSPIRONI6400/E1505&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=

You will not be able to install all of these drivers. You need to pinpoint which items your laptop came with. To do so, you may be able to look at your manual or order history and determine what exactly went into your computer.

My Dell Inspiron E1505's wireless switch is off.

This happened to me using a Dell Inspiron laptop. The wireless switch was disabled and the answer was supposed to use both the blue Fn and regular F2 function key to enable wireless connection. I tried Fn and F2 together and it did not work. I tried just F2 alone and it worked.

Strange faint gray/blue screen

It sounds like there is a critical error in loading the operating system, most likely caused by a corrupted file or key in the registry. Your options are: A) Spend countless hours[days] troubleshooting and experimenting trying to repair, or B) back up your drive, wipe, and re-install. I would obviously go with option B, as it will save hours, if not days of your life. Here is the easiest route to solve. (Note: you sound like you know your way around computers, so I am assuming you've already tried booting into safe mode.)
Here are the steps to getting your files off and re-installing a fresh version of Windows 7 RC (it's free to test, remarkably stable, and will continue to work until June 2010)
1. Power off computer, unplug, remove battery. 2. Remove hard drive (here is a how-to: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins6400/en/sm/hddrive.htm#wp1128924) 3. On a separate computer (obviously) download and burn Windows 7 to a DVD (get it here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/download.aspx ) 4. Hook the hard drive you took from the e1505 to your secondary computer. It should be a SATA connection, which most newer computers i've seen contain those connections. So you should be able to plug it directly into a desktop PC. If not, dig out an external hard drive, pop out the screws, and hook up your SATA e1505 hard drive to the SATA connection in the ext hard drive, power the ext hard drive and plug the USB into your secondary computer. Either way you connect it, the computer will recognize it as a storage drive and you can simply copy the whole thing to your computer for sorting out later. 4. Once backed up, and your Win7 DVD is burned, pop that harddrive back into your e1505. 5. Turn on the laptop and put in the Win7 disk and start the install process. 6. Enjoy your fresh OS (and yes, it is compatible with windows xp programs -- just check the box for Compatibility under the right click-->properties) 7. transfer your back-up files to your e1505 8. crack open a beer and laugh at the hypothetical you that would still be beating his head in trying to figure out wtf file is missplaced or corrupted.
cheers!

Hey there,

The wireless driver might only work on Vista, try the IT Administrators - Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility for Windows* XP and Windows Vista*from here

First uninstall the one you have though..

If this is for a dell e1505 this is the link
There is a small program called EVERESTHOME
this is a diagnostic utility that can ID your internal components to let you google the updates or drivers. for example the picture below
