How do I drain the washing machine? The washing machine seems to be skipping a cycle and making an unusual sound as though something is not catching or turning over.
Remove the lower access panel. Tilt the machine back, prop it up to lean against the wall or some other object, then remove the clean out drain plug. Check for objects blocking the pump inlet.
The best way to drain the unit is use a wet/dry shop vac and attach it to the end of the drain hose.
once all the water is removed then you can take the small acess panel off the front of the machine and take out the the drain pump plug. look for anything that might be stuck or obstructing the drain pump.
there is a small hole in the acess panel that you need to insert a small screw driver into push the locking tab in and rotate counter clockwise to remove.
It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect since the cycle when advanced seems to go through well.
Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.
