If the Operating System (OS) is Clean/fresh and has no bug's nor any laggy applications running behind while the program is being run.. Possibly there isnt ample amount of Ram Assigned for the Built-In Video card to use hence it disconnects when its unable to provide more, look into your notebook's Bios to assign that.. 128mb is the most commonly amount to speak of..

hello jaymarque, hi, try reducing the resolution, if not you should upgrade your onboard RAM around to 1gigabyte ram, switch your processor to Dual core 2.0GHz and or upgrade/change your AGP to a ram up to 512mb

Computer lags when playing games

You really need more Ram. But if that's not an option, then open "Activity Monitor" under Utilities folder in Apps folder. Go to User Processes, and you can see exactly what's taking up your Ram and slowing your game. Quit each process and hope for the best. Don't fool with the System Processes section; you might quit a process that is essential to running your computer.

Memory won't add on a Gigabyte GA-6VEML

Hi,
this will be dependant on the bios version. or if the 2 ram modules are identical or not. if they,re a matched pair. the motherboard may not like or run in dual-channel mode. sometimes adjustable in the systems bios. the other suggestion, is to try 1 stick of ram, in each slot individually. This will eliminate A Faulty Slot. Failing any Of The Above. try 2 x 256mb sticks, And Obtain The Latest Bios Update from The Manufacturers Website.

Sharp Actius AV18 does not recognize added 512MB PC2700 RAM. The machine still only sees 256MB. Is there something else I need to do?

I assume the laptop had originally 256Mb RAM and you put 512Mb RAM in a the spare memory slot and you expected to see 768Mb of memory, is this correct? Try removing the 256Mb memory module and insert the 512Mb memory module and see if the laptop boots up with 512Mb of RAM. If it doesn't boot up then the RAM is either incompatible or faulty. Try using RAM modules from the same manufacturer.

RAM

1st......Operating System?????
2nd.....Run Device manager to ascertain RAM installed
3rd.....Download Sandra Lite to find M/B specs.(Free Download)
4th.....Check if RAM is SODIMM,SDRAM,DDR,etc
5th.....Open PC case to ensure RAM slots available.
6th.....Purchase correct RAM.e.g.128MB->256MB,256MB->512MB,512MB->1024MB
Check to see if RAM slots are paired or not
If paired....2X128MB=256MB
2X256MB=512MB
2X512MB=1024MB

RAM Speed

There are many things that govern a computer's speed,

1 The speed of the Hardware IE the Processor, Memory and Graphics Card all contribute to this, (It is assumed that this is working well in whatever configuration you have)

2 The Requirements of your software....Win XP SP2 REQUIRES a minimum of 512 Mb Mem to run properly (if it has less than this it will run very slowly even with only basic Applications installed IE Norton/Mcafee Antivirus )

3 Software problems... Spyware / Virus infections affect the speed of your PC as the "Steal" Proccessing power for their own ends, I have personally seen PCs with terrible Spyware infections that they can barely operate at all, to remedy this I would reccomend downloading the free Spyware tool "Spybot Search and Destroy", (just type into google) and for Viruses you could try using Grisoft AVG free.

I hope this helps.

Compaq M700 Ram Upgrade the second

i can find no spec on this but,if your notebook can take upt 576MB of memory, i would expect 2 x 256MB to be the max, as installing 1 x 512MB would be doubling the capacity allowed by one module slot.
