The most common problem i have seen is the door lock has failed, but it can also depend on what part of the cycle it is pausing on.The other more common problem is the main control panel has gone bad,

Check to make sure there are no obstructions that would cause the drain pump not to pump out water.

If not this is the problem.
to remove the suds from the pump now you will have to put one tsp of oil in where you put powders at and run cycle on normal and then see what you get. if this dont work let me know and we will go from their.

thanks,

SOURCE: Washer keeps pausing

you may have something in your drain pump.
1) Remove the three screws in the bottom remove bottom panel.
2) Remove drain pump cover (have towels or pan to catch water that comes out)
3) Remove any debris from pump, check that the impeller is not damaged and can be moved freely.
4) reinstall drain pump cover and bottom panel

SOURCE: GE Front Load washer keeps pausing and have to

Try to clean the discharge pump filter first (Instructions in the Use/Care manual).

If the drain pump is working, it's most likely related to the pressure switch. Check out these postings:

Do a diagnostic test -- Easy and free, and the machine will likely diagnose its own problem. Instructions in those postings.

I just got my ge washer today and it keeps pausing or saying sense. Does anyone know why?

If the program is in a stage where the water needy to be heated, it will pause, If the pausing does not stop, because the water does not become at the right temp. perhaps the heater is defect? If everything takes tooooo long just contact your dealer. Must be lots of warranty time left.

My GE Washer continues to keep pausing during the wash cycle. After we push the button to restart it pauses again after 5 to 6 minutes and continues this throught out the entire wash cycle. We also went...

Please, check to insure that your washer is properly grounded. If you do not know what that means, call an electrician. Modern wash machines are controlled by circuit boards that operate on low voltage and are vulnerable to static electricity. Spikes or gaps in the electrical service from your power company could also be the problem. Your electrician should be able to help you with that as well.

GE WCVH6800 Pressing start results in two short beeps. The pause/start button keeps blinking and it will not start a cycle.

Is the door lock button on, but the door not actually locked? Our door lock switch keeps going out. We have replaced it 4 times in the last 3 years.

GE Adora front load washer overloaded now won't start

Washers - Resetting Electronic Controls on a Washer

If there is a pause in the washer cycle, the controls will lock up. The pause can occur because of a power failure or it was put in the test mode at the factory.

Also, if the washer was stopped before the cycle was complete or the consumer has pushed the stop/pause button to temporarily stop the cycle and the cycle is not reset. Over a period of 24 hours, the washer will pump out and spin, but will stay in the final spin.

To correct the situation, shut off the circuit breaker for 30 seconds or unplug the washer, then turn the timer knob around and back to any position other than final spin. Verify the water is turned on and restore power. This should resolve the issue.

sounds like there is a pumping/blockage problem. check the filter and all drain hoses/outlets. if all clear the pump may be faulty. is the drum turning at all?
