no sound from external speakers or monitor speakers. All volume controls up high and no mute is on anywhere I could find. The external speakers worked when I first set up the PC and just stopped working without me changing anything. Device driver check says it is working......

Check audio cable connected correctly, then check the monitor menu for sound settings are correct. If that all seems OK, plug in some external speakers to check if soundcard is functioning.

First years baby monitor Y7569P

That is due to some sort of electrical flux within the monitor CRT tube

Since the CRT tube has a very high voltage operation it may happen

You may have noticed similar noise coming out of any ordinary Tubelight condensers

High pitch sound coming from my old LG 700E monitor

High pitch sound maybe an indicator of a defective monitor or a wrong or incompatible resolution setting of your display properties. The usual is that you have set the resolution higher than that the monitor can hold. Boot the pc in a safe mode. This will give you an option to set the resolution to that resolution accepted by your monitor, the usual is 1024 x 600 or so, avoid higher resolution than this.

Monitor not supported

Well the monitor not being support is not the issue. the issue is the video card cannot produce a signal that is supported for the monitor. Its doing this to let you know also to lower your resolution because the monitor will pop if the resolutions is to high. the monitor itself does not matter if you had Vista as lond as the monitor agree with the signal your cool if it don't it will do this. Try lowing the res using another monitor then put the orginal back on and you should be good.

Thanks

Monitor says no input signal

Do the icons look ok when you can see them? It sounds like your resolution may be way too high for the monitor. It loses sync and blanks the screen rather than show a lot of mess.

Boot your windows in safe mode (tap F8 before it gives you the progress bar.. just keep tapping it until you get a boot menu)

Everything should look big, but the monitor shouldn't cut out. Go to your display properties and set it to the lowest setting. (even if you can't move the slider, just click it once) Then OK and restart.

If that works, you should be in normal Windows with a horrible resolution. Go back to display settings and set it ONE STEP higher. Apply and have a look. If it's good, go another step, and repeat.

Montior gone dead ?

The icon you are seeing is the Num Lock indicator. What that means is the computer has probably booted up successfully.

If you have another computer or laptop, hook up your monitor to the other computer to see if you get a display.

If no other computer to try with, try unplugging the monitor and with the power unplugged, press the power button for about 15 seconds.

Reconnect power and make sure the monitor powers on, then connect it to your PC.

Let me know if this helps or if you have additional questions.
