Question about Mitsubishi VS-5043 50" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

50" Mitsubishi The green light indicates the set turns on but then it turns right back off. No sound and no picture. Acts the same if manually turned on or using a remote. Tried resetting the set to an avail. I would appreciate any thoughts on the repairs and related expenses.

Check the 5 volt pico fuses on the center board. F9A05 is most likley open. This would indicate bad convergence amps. The two Convergence amps and fuse should be replaced.

Unplug the set from the AC outlet and wait at least 5minutes before reconnecting the Ac power. Turn on set and wait for light to stop flashing before trying to turn on again when it stops it is ok to turn on, if this does not solve the problem then purchase a new lamp. or the lamp ballast is faulty.

2 blinks followed by 1 blink is the X-Ray protection-----means some problem in the High voltage circuit ---set produces over 25 thousand volts to fire the 3 picture tubes inside up----It could be excessive high voltage-------I think you would have to get lucky for someone to find and fix it in your home----more likely it will need a visit to a Repair shop.
