Nuvi 250w alphabet problem: no "E" nor "R"!!

Maybe because I left it in my car in freezing cold weather (15 F), my nuvi 250 w lost "E" and "R" from typing screen. "E" is replaced by "D" so there's 2 "D"s and "R" is now "P" so 2 "P" can I fix this problem??

yep i have two Es and two Hs, How do you fix this?

Various letters are missing, but in their places are duplicates of other letters. Somewhere I found a "solution"--connect the unit via USB cable to a computer. Wait for the unit to be recognized as a "removable disk drive". Disconnect, and...Magic! It's fixed.
This has worked twice for me (and the weird behavior went away on its own a couple of times). But I don't usually keep a laptop in the car just to do brain surgery on a flaky GPS device. COME ON, Garmin!

I have the same problem. I sent one unit back to the store and now its happening on my second garmin nuvi 250W. Holding the reset button and then connecting back to a power source does nothing.

I had exactly the same problem. 2 P's and no R. I tried the USB connection to a computer mentioned above and it worked. Thank you so much.

I checked the garmin website to see if there is an update. Didn't see one. But I'd try the web updater just to make sure. BTW there is a little reset button on the bottom you could try if it goes flaky again

I have a garmin nuvi and the cable that you put into your cigarette lighter will not work. I changed the fuse and it still will not keep the unit charged. I can charge it on my computer with a usb cable....

Do you see a lightning bolt symbol over the battery bar graph? This indicates that its charging. If it's under warranty, please contact Garmin on their website. and call them. No need to worry about this if its under warranty. Send them your charger too.

Missing bluetooth software

The 300 does NOT have bluetooth. See this Garmin link:

The 360 has bluetooth. In order to have bluetooth, you must have the main board inside that has the bluetooth circuitry AND the firmware to support it. The 300 does NOT have the circuitry for bluetooth.
