It is Easter monday and snowing in England. I have the same problem with the snow and white objects displaying and downloading as pink on "auto".

The amount of pink seems to be worse when th camera is first switched on.

Same problem - anything white turns to pink.

If no white in picture it seems ok

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

  • Indoor pictures with flash set on auto WB (white balance) should not be a problem
  • Indoor pictures without flash requires setting the WB to match the light source in the room (incandescent, florescent etc) Outdoor pictures WB on auto generally not a problem

Pictures have a blue colour

You have not said w2hether these are daylight pics or pics taken inside under halogen lights. The later requires a blue filter.

Daylight pics that show blue are set to the wrong Kelvins in your menu. Set the camera back to factory settings and make a note of the Kelvins ( temperature scale) that is the standard setting.. You can manipulate the color of the pics taken in certain light by moving the scale upward to warm the pic in overcast situations or down in bright light to remove red cast that some light or lights ( bulbs) tend tp create in pics.

Picture has a pink tint to it

Possibly you camera has a white balance setting (specifying whether you are taking picture in artificial light or in daylight) try to reset it by looking for it in the menu (you did not give a lot of details, I cannot help more...)

Pink in the photos

maybe you use wrong white balance, test auto and manual white balance; if there is pink again then your camera have hard ware problem (CCD for exaple). I hope this helps...

Blurry white image when pics are taken during broad daylight

Try first to reset your camera. Press the menu button, go over to setup, go down to reset, press the right arrow, highlight reset and press set. Don't worry it won't erase any of the pictures on your memory card. If that doesn't work you can try and manually set the white balance on your camera and I would recommend sending it into repairs if that doesn't work since it's taking nighttime pictures fine. :)

Color/hue

I see this everyday. The problem is faulty CCD sensor ( see enclosed pic ). You are lucky because Canon will replace the sensor free of charge so contact your agent.79c5c87.jpg
