ditto - Mitsubishi medallion 65", comes and goes. Seems especially common during warm up. Any idea as to where to get parts and manuals?

I have the exact same problem on a WS-55807. Goes away after a couple of minutes but was progressively getting worse. Read the post on the brown ground wire by HOSER67. Got to the wire, it was a little black looking like it might be arcing. Wiped the ground screw and area with alcohol and put it back together. Problem solved!! HOSER67, you pinpointed the problem on the money!! Thanks!!

On the middle circuit board there is a tall metal wavy rigid plate.on the back side middle screw is a ground wire(light brown) that is loose.very difficult to reach unless you disassemble unit.

Yes, this is rare but I have seen it before--not fixable if it is what I think it is----It is what is called a Dome effect---the shadow mask in the picture tube is actually contracting and or expanding depending on temperature---

Directly behind the phosphor coating (the stripes that you see on the screen) is a metal screen--the holes or perforations in it line up with the stripes on the phosphor screen.

Some masks either have a material or a defect causing the dome effect----Not likely to be anything else---a Pin amp problem will not usually act the way you describe but a shadow mask inside the picture tube will act exactly that way.

CRT pictures that "bow-in" on the edges usually indicates that the high voltage power supply is failing.

When the bow is pulled across the strings there is no sound just a quiet muffled noise?

These are noted for NOT being prroperly setup!

Check the following:

The bridge should be centered within the length of the "f" holes... usually there is a slight "v" in the middle of the "f" holes.

The Back (side toward the tailpiece) should be perfectely vertical relative to the top surface.

Look into the "f" hole on the treble side. The sound post should be about 1/4 inch toward the tailpiece from where the bridge is located. The post should be vertical between the top and bottom inside.

The rest depends on the quality of the strings and the bow. The bow needs to be rosined.

Use google to find stuff about setting up a violin. There is a mass amount if information on the web, and probably some help on you tube as well.

Cheap Fix?

I will strongly advise you to replace the two STK392-120 as a pair. and this will cure your bowing picture problem. You may need to re-converge your set. best of luck.

sounds like your IC's took a dive again. Did you change them or a shop? You have to also make sure that when you change the IC's that you put plenty of heat sink compound on the back of the IC's and do not use the cheapy IC's that you can get for 20 bucks or less as I have found they do not last. This convergence board should be available as a complete board. Good Luck

you have a convergence problem.. If you understand how this works then you can go into the set find the convergence ic's and replace them and sometimes you need to do some alighnment as well. Its always best though to let a service tech do a job like this as he will have all the proper equipment to adjust and troubleshoot the set Good luck
