Belkin (F5D7633-4) Wireless Router and SpeedTouch 360

Hi all!

My broadband connection is through a normal modem (SpeedTouch 360), i bought a wireless router (Belkin F5D7633-4).
I couldn't manage to plug the belkin wireless router directly and get it to work without plug in it through the modem (SpeedTouch).
What I have done so far is getting the SpeedTouch connected to my PC through an USB cable and then from the PC to belkin router with a LAN cable.
I have internet in my PC but the router hasen't.

PLEASE HELP!

I have solved this issues. I simply had to change the VPI/VCI values which i have obtained from my ISP. These value differ from one ISP to another.
Thanks for all the people tried to help me!

SOURCE: Hello, I currently use a Belkin F5D8631 as my Modem Router. I have a spare Belkin F5D7633. Can I use the 7633 as a repeater/bridge to extend my wireless range? If so, how?! Thank you

It will not extend your wireless range. If you connect your spare Belkin F5D7633 to your Belkin F5D8631, one of them would have to be set to "bridge mode" or a pass through modem so that there will be no conflicts as to which modem will receive the ip address from the network. If you set your modem/router to bridge mode, it would disable its wireless function because it will only be a pass-through device.

If you want some tips on how to improve your wireless range, check out this site http://www.microsoft.com/athome/moredone/wirelesstips.mspx. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: I am changing from a Speedtouch USB broadband

It sounds to me that your PC is still looking for a manual connection to be made to the internet each time you want to go online.

If you're using Internet Explorer then check the following out, go to the Tools menu, Internet Options, Connections, make sure your dialups listed are selected as 'Never dial a connection'. This will allow your PC to find a connection with it looking to dial out again, so should use your router from now.

Hi I am using reliance broadband. They have

Easy, if your modem is connected to your computer right now and internet is working all you need to do is connect your LAN line to your belkin router. the connection should say input, or Internet. after that you will need another LAN wire (These look like telephone cables but the jack plug is larger and will only fit a lan connection on your router or computer) Connect the second wire to the line 1 or outout 1 from your router, to your pc in the slot where the other cable was connected. your internet signal should work.... on your mobil find any available network and log in to your belkin router.

that should do it.... if you haven't set up your internet connection, do that first by installing the drivers for the modem provided by your provider and then complete the process above.

I try to plug in my belkin 54 wireless usb thing into my xbox 360 and my xbox doesnt even recognize that it is in there and i dont know where to start but i would like to be able to play games online and...

Hi,

XBOX 360 is alredy wifi enabled you dont have to plug a thing in to it, if you want to configure wireless

All you got to do is turn on your wireless router/access point and try to search for available network in Xbox 360 and upon selectin the network it would ask for wireless key (WEP key cab found on the back or bottom of router) punch in the key and bingo...its done
Your box is ready to be wirelessly connected to internet and play online

alternatively if you dont ahve a wirelss router or you are facing difficulty is seraching wireless router or finding the security key

Connect the router to modem > then connect the router and XBOX with an ethernet cable
It will work

Else you can also try connecting the modem and XBOX with an ethernet or USB cable

(However in all the aboove scenario, please ensure the modem is getting the internet link through the normal RJ11 or phone cable, please dont unplug that else though your XBOX would be connected to Modem or router but it wont get internet connection)

Problems setting up new macs and a new wireless system with a PC

The MAC address of the network card on the PC is probably registered with Tiscali. The easiest thing to do is to Connect the Belkin router to the internet, then go into the config and clone the MAC address of the windows PC. Once this is done, then you can either plug in the airport express, or configure wifi for the Macs from the belkin.

I am a very untechnical person and I bought a wireless G Router thinking I could connect it very simply and make my wired broadband wireless. Unfortunately the modem I have, which was sent to me by Virgin...

I'm thinking you have the ADSL modem supplied by Virgin with only the telephone line port and an USB port on the back that goes to the computer.

In the case above. You need to buy a wireless router with a USB port connection. Or something like a Linksys WAG54G which is an ADSL and wireless router all-in-one.
