Question about Canon NP 6551 Black and White Copier
I took my beloved PC720 to Thailand with me when I moved a year ago.
I don't use copier a lot but when I need it I really need it!
Trust me, its nooo fun trying to get a copy made where I am.
Okay, everything lights up & hums nicely...
(I might average about 20 copies a week).
2 weeks ago my paper try ran out of paper & being in a rush I just started using my side feed, one sheet at a time.
Last week I got around to putting paper in tray.
I think the mesage I got on 1st copy was the paper jam message.
(funny little #8, with a zigzag shoved up against it... sorta like the resistor symbol in electronic schematics).
I can't actually remember right now but I think I might have had one piece of paper jammed... on rare occasion this does occur.
Anyways, I always operate the same... pop open, remove jammed copy, close & bravo, my machine is working again.
Only this time... not.
Only error message.
Did I pop a fuse somewhere?
Is there a micro switch somewhere that needs to be attended to?
I have searched like crazy on internet hoping I could find something specific to my machine, but alas.
In my search I was even hoping I could find a service manual that I could download, or have someone e-mail me.
Any advice or opiions that can bail me out of this would be sooo appreciated.

Hmmm, couldn't make the exact error code from your post.
In any case on to your paper jam issue, it may be that your figure 8 is actually figure of two rollers with the lightning mark signifying your rollers are not working. This could be a belt/gear problem.
Additionally, one of our resident expert (in office equipment) is also in Thailand. Should you be interested pls add him up as a buddy (http://www.fixya.com/users/mrjlh) and post directly for him to reply to your concern.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
