Question about Garmin iQue 3600 GPS Receiver
I replaced the battery in my Garmin iQue 3600. I recharged it overnight and then turned it on. I had lost all my data ... I can fix that. However, the screen is very dim. I adjusted the brightness to maximum but that made no difference. The screen is so dark that I have to hold it under a bright light just to make it out. I did a hard reset but that did not help.
Is there anything I can do to increase the brightness? Or is there someone I can send it to to fix the problem (at a reasonable priced)?
This happened to me, too, when I replaced the battery. Turns out one of the wires that affects the brightness came loose. I found the loose wire, touched it to a few places where I thought it should go, and one of them caused the screen to come on to full bright.
I was extremely nervous dealing with this - never soldered in such tight quarters before, but once I soldered it down, the problem was solved. I have other problems with my ique - like extremely limited battery life - but the brightness problem is solved.

Suggest backlight wires broken off main PCB under display.
Black and red short wires on left of PCB break easily when disturbed so ** backlight.
