Can't get previous owner's name out of laptop

All solutions are good but create the new user first as adminstrator then delete the old user you will be asked to save the old users files if she is not going to use this laptop again and she doesn't need her files then delete them.

If you want to remove her account, you will need to know the administrator accounts login. Unfortunately, I couldn't tell you what that is. She may even be the administrator. If you get logged on as the administrator, you can go into Start->Control Panel->Users and remove her account.

From that same location, you can add yourself as a user. Create your user as an administrator.

Create a user name for yourself as administrator. Once done, delete your daughter's account all together. Be sure to save any documents you wish to keep in your new account documents. This should take care of your issue.

You can create an new user in control panel, Call it your name give it admin rights, then log out and log in as you..Other then that you would have to delete the oS and reinstall it to start fresh.
