If the support cd driver for your printer is only up to windows xp then probably you need to install the appropriate driver for windows vista to get your printer work. Be sure that also you properly connect the printer to your computer in order for the operating system to detect the printer and search for the necessary driver for it.

O.k so you can't find the driver at philips, have you tried Microsoft itself? www.microsoft.co. supprt & downloads if still No luck a tried and tested site that has never failed me for all sorts of software & downloads is www.cnet.com still no luck /google Driver detective works well believe me! If using windows, goto control panel from start button,double click on printers, if your printer is not listed, reinstall drivers from disc the printer came with. if it is listed, click once, then click on properties, select "drivers" look for "add new drivers" select this, and reload drivers from disc that came with printer.
If it still will not work, look in the printer maunufactor's website for downloads/updated drivers and FAQs....Hope it helps.
