Multiple Problems with ITouch since getting new computer
I've had an ITouch since Christmas and it worked great. Then I changed over to a new computer with Vista and things haven't been the same since. My ITunes and my ITouch frequently freeze up during the synch process. When I cancel out the synch and restart ITunes it says that it doesn't recognize my Ipod and forces me to do a restore. This has happened 5 times or so. Since the first restore it hasn't put the upgraded software (with additional programs) back onto the unit even though it shows it as having been purchased in my account information.
Now the latest - It has actually synched successfully the past couple times, but frequently when I am in the middle of a movie - or sometimes even a song - it will suddenly stop the audio and then close out the movie completely. When I return to the movie it restarts from the beginning.
Re: Multiple Problems with ITouch since getting new...
Dude i know exactly what you mean, but that usually happens to me when im on the internet. I'll be on a website & all of the sudden it jumps back to the home page, pisses me off. I got a problem too..I have like 4 cds that are entitled "greatest hits" but after the itouch gets synched, they are all combined into 1 cd with 5 different artists. I dont know what to do.

did U change the screen? or did u take it somewhere? it might be because contacts don't line up together well u can try to push charger up to get better contact or open itouch and fix button using video on youtube
on your itouch do the followings
settings>>general>>(scroll down) reset>>reset all settings.
this will reset all the security settings you have made.
you will not loose any data.
if this doesnt work than the only thing you can do is restore to factory settings.
let me know the results
When you plug it into your computer, it should open iTunes automatically (if already installed into your computer) and begin to sync. If it doesn't, manually open iTunes. From here, you should see something along the lines of "My iTouch" on the left hand panel. Right click on this headline and you should see the option of backup. Select this. The, right click again upon completion and select restore as new. You will not lose any data. Hope this helps :)
reinstall itunes and ipod software onto the computer. This will reset the settings back to default. youll also have to restore your itouch. I have an itouch as well and thats happened to me before. I restored it and reinstalled everything and it worked.
Go to your computer and type in 192.168.1.1 it should take you to your router's main menu. Then search for something like Wireless Conection or Wireless Config, it should then tell you your roouter's name and password.
Some speaker systems which are only compatible for charging the ipod nanos and classics do not work with the iPod Touch and the iPhone, the internals are slighly different from one another which will not allow that speaker system to charge your iTouch.
To play & Charge your touch, i suggest getting a speaker system that supports the iPod touch platform.
