Keeps printing black lines across the pages. Continues to do it with a new printer cartridge. Before if I hit "Reset Factory Settings" it seemed to help but now it does not.

Go to the settings on your computer hit properties and do an alignment, sometimes if you take out the ink cartridge and put it back in it will say do you want to do an alighment, then after the page prints you have to scan it, then pick which one looks the best
YOU NEED TO LET THE PRINTER RE-ALIGN ITSELF AFTER INSTALLING PRINT CARTRIDGES, THE PRINTER SHOULD HAVE PAPER IN IT TO DO THIS, THE TEST PAGE PRINTED WILL THEN NEED TO BE PLACED IN THE PRINTER ON THE GLASS, PRESS SCAN, THIS SHOULS RESET YOUR PRINTER.
Checked ink cartridge's, two had dried out, still had ink in them but the exit apertures were blocked.
So new set of ink cartridges and problem fixed.
Thank you
Jim
printer problem call up hp at 1-800-474-6836 and ask them for an upgraded printer which you will get at 50-60% cheaper than the original and its a factory new printer. But it is definitly not free. What you have right now is a hardware problem and the printer is dying so change it fast while this offer is available
To get your printer to recognize the new cartridge; go to start - printer and faxes -right click on printer - preferences (printing preferences) -settings -load factory settings. Print test page Ctrl+P
yes you have to catch printer making the line and then as a page is being printed you need to open door to stop paper after green cylinder(drum) as it is entering fuser, then you need to remove paper from printer without pulling through the fuser, if you see the line then rub your finger across line up and down page, if it smears at all then its the cartridge if not then the fuser
I would try a cold reset. Turn the printer off; hold down the green "GO" button, continue to hold while you power the printer "ON". Hold the green "GO" button until the printer shows al " ********** " across the screen; now let go. It should soon say " Restoring Factory Settings ".
I just had the same problem on a PSC1350 after putting in a new black cart. Try this:
Open HP Director
On the main window select Settings>Print Settings>Printer Toolbox
Open the Configuration Tab
At bottom right click "Factory Settings" button then "Apply"
A
configuration warning popped up explaining that 'd be changing settings
used by the driver. I clicked ok. AOK. (I did do an alignment just
before this, but it's probably not required to fix the prob.
