Hi,

Look on the front of your CD drive. If it is a burner you can see it written there.

I want to save my picture files on the cd or dvd tape but i cant transfer it.

You need a burning software to burn your picture files, music, or video.
You can use NERO Burning ROM. Download it from HERE. You can use the "Data Burning" Feature in it to transfer your files into CD or DVD.

How to Burn images with Windows 7?

Windows 7 finally introduces a feature that other operating systems have had for years - the ability to burn ISO images to CDs or DVDs. And it couldn't be much easier to use. Just double-click the ISO image, choose the drive with the blank disc, click Burn and watch as your disc is created.

I've created a slide show in Slide Show Expressions and saved it as a project to my hard drive. Now I want to burn a CD. Do I click on "produce" at the edit mode of SSE, to burn the CD. Then...

What you need is a CD burning software like Nero to simplify things or you can just right click the project file and from the pop up menu select "Send to" and then select your CD writer drive. If you do not have a "CD writer" device in your computer you will not be able to burn the CD.

Good Luck!

DVD drive will recognize data discs but will not recognize DVDs. I.e. when you place a DVD in the drive and open windows explorer you are told that there is no DVD in the drive. However it will...

try running the fix-tool provided by Microsoft on this web page

http://support.microsoft.com/gp/cd_dvd_drive_problems

If that fails then my suspicion is that either
1) the drive has failed
or more likely
2) because you don't have any DVD burning software, windows can't understand the blank DVD-RW disk. This basic packet-burning software installed with XP CANNOT write to DVD disks.

However there is a bit more to it than that - the Microsoft CD burning software (which is a cut down Roxio product) cannot co-exist with any other packet burning software (e.g. DLA, In-CD or simuilar) so if one of those is installed you have to DISABLE the MS CD burning capability on the drive settings tab. Even worse, Internet Explorer 8 is not compatible with DLA - which is included in quite a few CD/DVD suites including many of the later Roxio versions

My advice would be
1) un-install any CD or DVD burning software on the machine
2) disable the MS CD burning
3) run that Microsoft patch
4) Install some DVD burning software but DON'T install the packet writing software part of it

Note that after installing that patch you may also have to reinstall any DVD playing software

How do I download music onto a cd?

You will have to download the music files (MP3's) onto your local computer's hard drive first. Then using your preferred burning software, insert a CD-R or CD+R depending on your CD drive (burner). It may be dual format and burn both, but you need to use the proper CDs to burn otherwise you will get errors and they won't burn, and then follow the instructions pursuant to your burning software. I hope this helps and good luck!

I need to unlock a limited windows account, but forgot the admin password

There are several ways to do this. Easiest is to take it to a professional computer repair shop, they should be able to unlock the admin account and reset the password in a few minutes and the charge should be minimal since they'll use option number 2:

Second way is to download and burn the Ultimate Boot CD and use the password reset tool within it. That requires the ability to burn an ISO CD though.
