Question about Computers & Internet
I have a BenQ FP791 17 in LCD. I was working until one day I turned it on and it now only displays an all white screen. I plugged it in to another computer, same problem. I can add it as a second monitor to windows but all it displays is white. Windows finds it and the mouse can move over to it but I do not see anything. I am handy with a soldering iron, but not nessisarily diagnosing electronic problems. Any suggestions.
Most often the all white screen is the result of a missing voltage to the LCD panel. We usually find an open fuse on the panel circuit board. Unfortunately replacing the fuse does not usually fix the problem.

Greetings, I repaired one of these LCD display by replacing all 4 of the 5707 transistors but now the screen turns to complete white and no image is seen.

It is possible that you have a dry solder joint on your monitors mainboard somewhere around the power input. That is on thing that can cause that on LCD Displays. Power is going to the backlight only and not to displaying the image data as well.
If you are able, remove the housing from the lcd display, and look at the mainboard. Look out for leaking capacitors and dry solder joins.

I have a Gateway FPD2275W monitor and once in a while it shows an all white screen for no apparent reason but will work other times...for instance if I reboot my machine the screen will go all white (when the BIOS screens are displayed) and I have to turn it off and on again (maybe a few times, once the Windows welcome screen comes up) for it to work again...I'm not sure what the problem is that would cause it to go all white only sometimes...If it was a problem with the panel or board wouldn't it not work at all?

Normally a white screen is a problem with the panel or main interface board.
Check if this is under warranty, normally BenQ has a three year warranty.Check out www.benq.com under support after selecting your region.
