I have the same problem. I have 5 black particles that look like fibers when zooming in. Took it too a shop and quoted me £80 - £100 to get it fixed!

Help, is there a cheaper solution?

I found a black spot on the images. The spot comes into focus when I zoom in and becomes a blurred spot when I zoom out. The surface of the lens is clean. The spot is stationary and shows up on the camera...

Could be on the CMOS sensor, take it to be repaired. If u still want to go ahead and open it, avoid using your hands inside, use vacuum hand pumps and brushes.

RED DOT

Hi,

If the dot is not visible in print, but only on the camera's screen, the its only the LCD that is faulty.

If the dot is visible on screens and in print, then yes, it could be the sensor. Try taking pictures without the digital zoom. Chances are the dot is only visible with the digital zoom because the picture is interpolated.

If all else fails, you can try cloning out the spot in an image editor on the computer.

Black spot on picture

My Nikon was having the same problem with the stationary black spot. I used a can of Dust Off ( the original compressed gas duster). I just removed the lens and held the camera upside down (lens facing the floor) and blew my compressed air inside and my black spot disappeared. Just a thought you might like to know !! Good luck.
