How do i update the firmware for the VP8870? Ive already downloaded the zip file. All my video files suddenly disappeared! Anyone know why?

While performing firmware update all data will be erased !
See the manual on page 36:
Vosonic VP8870 manual

The firmware update for the player is PMP.VP8870-1.0.0.B2.mtg :
Since you've downloaded the zip file, were you able to unpack it with
Winzip op Winrar ?
When using XP you can unpack by:
1. [Right click on the zip file] Open with > Compressed maps [left click on Compressed maps]
2. The next screen shows the opened zip file. On the left side the
folder task manager can be opened ( Folders / Maps in the top bar not selected): "Unzip all files" : follow up the Windows unzip wizard and
remember the location of the files.

How to do the firmware update is explained in the pdf file "How to update 1.0.0-B2 - VP8870 .pdf", added to the firmware update in the
zip file.
Remember:
While performing firmware update all data will be erased !

Problem with Zen media services organizer software.

Have you tried updating the firmware of your Zen V Plus? I've had mine for almost an year and haven't had these issues -- I updated the firmware as soon as I unpacked it.

try downloading the
MP3 player recovery tool from Creative's website (the tool contains the latest firmware update available -- 1.15.03). Plug your ZV+ into your PC, run the program and let it update the firmware. Then format, reload your music and try it.
